BDO Solutions is looking for an Accounting Project Leader to join it's growing team.
PROJECT LEADER - ACCOUNTING OUTSOURCING
Summary
Reporting to the managers, you will manage a portfolio of clients and lead a team within the company. You are passionate about nurturing and grooming talents.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with BDO network to ensure that accounting records are accurate and transactions and activity within the portfolio are understood and incorporated into the accounting ledgers and disclosures as appropriate.
- Bookkeeping, timely and accurate processing/reconciling of all fund transactions, bank transactions and accruals and prepare monthly reports as per client’s requirements. Prepare cash/Market value/intercompany reconciliations
- Proactively investigate queries with client regarding custodian statements/broker statements/investments to ensure timely resolution of all queries.
- Where applicable communicate and escalate potential issues in a prompt and effective manner.
- Review simple and complex financial statements.
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with relevant international accounting standards (E.g. IFRS, UK GAAP or any other international GAAPs).
- Active adherence to budget and timetable, bringing matters to the attention of the manager.
- Ensure all deadlines are met.
- Assist other departments within BDO Solutions when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holds or has substantially completed ACA or ACCA qualification or equivalent.
- At least 4 to 5 years of experience in Auditing and/or Accounting.
- Experience in leading and managing team/s.
Skills
- Excellent knowledge of International Accounting Standards and UK GAAP.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Proven ability of expressing technical and complex issues, both in writing and orally.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Flexible and able to work across several different time zones to meet client demands.
- Ability to manage within budgetary and time constraints while providing a high-level of client satisfaction.
- Anticipate and address clients' concerns and escalating problems as they arise.
- Good knowledge of data protection and GDPR.
- Well organized and has a track record of working to tight deadlines.
- Detail oriented and excellent analytical skills.
- Has a proactive mindset and can work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of accruals, prepayments and variance analysis.
- Ability to understand invoices and post accurately on different accounting platforms.
- Good understanding of bookkeeping transactions and financial preparation.
- Good knowledge of month-end adjustment.
