Gardener

The Gardener assists in cleaning the hotel premises; plants and makes sure that public access areas are well kept.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described.

• Cleaning of premises (garden, shops, bungalows, road)
• Cleaning of bins
• Watering / trimming and weeding
• Proper handling of tools
• Beautify the premises
• Plant
• Use appropriate fertilisers
• Caring and Shaping of trees
• Maintenance and stockage
• Cleaning of tools and equipment after use
• Cleaning the beach, rake the sand, every morning

Candidate profile:

Qualification:

• Middle or Secondary Education + Additional  training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus.

Experience:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in hotel industry.
• Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts is a plus.
• Experience working in remote island locations is a plus.

Technical skills:

• Ability to handle a range of horticultural machinery and powered hand tools.
• In-depth knowledge of plants and gardening techniques.
• Solid understanding of health and safety rules and legislation.
• Organization skills.
• Fluency in English or another language, written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
