Junior Corporate & Compliance Officer

The job incumbent shall assist in the day-to-day challenges of the corporate and compliance department.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Taking care of the day-to-day corporate administration and operations of the portfolio and following up with third parties, including banks, authorities and clients.
  • Review of files to ensure proper file management and update accordingly.
  • Update registers of directors/secretary/shareholder where necessary.
  • File on MNS, reserve names, extract of files on CBRIS and any requests.
  • Arrange board, shareholder and other committee meetings and act as company secretary i.e taking notes at meeting and perform all other company secretarial duties and responsibilities.
    • Assist in preparation of resolutions and minutes.
    • Attend training courses as may be required and keep abreast of any regulatory, legal and compliance changes.
    • Perform any cognate duties as and when required.
  • KYC/Due diligence check and perform required level of due diligence review and ensure proper CDD are on file.
  • Ensure the portfolio complies with statutory requirements, licensing conditions and company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal systems, procedures and processes.
  • Liaise with the regulator, tax authority and companies division in Mauritius for client and company matters.
  • Maintain and update company databases.
  • Organize a filing system for company documents.
  • Answer queries by clients.
  • Prepare reports, board packs and presentations as assigned.

 

Candidate profile:

 

  • A Diploma or Higher School certificate with at least one year of experience
    • Organised, accurate with attention to details.
    • Good team player.
    • Fluent in English and French and excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
    • Very company and regulatory focused.
    • Strong ethic and commitment to the organisation.
    • Knowledge of the legal and corporate sector would be an advantage.
    • Recent and clean certificate of character
  • Team spirit and the capacity and willingness to build strong client relationships
  • Positive attitude
  • Computer literate – Experience with office management software like MS Office (MS Excel, Powerpoint and MS Word, specifically)
  • Strong organization skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • Hours & days of work: 8h30 to 17h during weekdays only
  • Upon performance, dedication and other criteria, funding for further studies/courses is available.
