Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out engineering inspections of rides, attractions and facilities.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes.
- Ensure all rides and attractions operate safely and efficiently.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend engineering improvements.
- Verify compliance with engineering standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Participate in annual ride inspections and certification programmes.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new rides and equipment.
- Participate in engineering projects and refurbishment works.
- Review engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Coordinate contractors during technical installations.
- Ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards
- Responsible for preparing technical specifications such as Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Prepare technical reports following inspections and maintenance activities.
- Maintain maintenance records and engineering documentation.
- Monitor equipment downtime and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain spare parts records and technical manuals.
- Liaise with manufacturers regarding technical issues.
- Coordinate external contractors during maintenance activities.
- Verify completed work before handover.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety standards
- Assist in preparing the maintenance budget.
- Monitor maintenance expenditure.
- Recommend cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Assist in inventory control of spare parts and consumables
- Ensure as reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare of employees at work.
- Support in the implementation of health and safety risk management programs relevant to the operations and work environment
- Report to the H&S department as required and support in the investigation of accidents and incidents.
- Ensure adherence to existing local H&S legislations and regulations as well as to any other established H&S policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the building and surrounding areas are safe for the for visitors and staff
Any other cognate duties as may be necessary in
the circumstances and/or required by the employer.
Candidate’s Profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering
- Professional Engineering qualification would be an advantage
- Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in the amusement, hospitality or manufacturing industry
- Experience with amusement rides, heavy machinery or industrial equipment is an advantage.
- High-level knowledge on mechanical, electrical, audio, visual, light, hydraulics and pneumatics systems and system integration environment
