Reporting to the Quality Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible to ensure the occupational health and safety for staff, patients and visitors.
What you will be doing:
- Carry out regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
- Carry regular risk assessment to improve occupational safety and health for staff, patients, visitors and any other person visiting the Company premises.
- Outline safe operational policies and procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards.
- Preparing safety and health strategies and developing internal policies.
- Make changes where required to working practices and comply with OSHA 2005.
- Ensure that all injury at work is handled properly, reported / recorded in writing.
- Lead In-House training and induction programme with new staff about safety and health issues regularly.
- Assist the Maintenance Department to ensure the safe installation of plant and machinery.
- Advise and order appropriate protective personal equipment (PPE) for all eligible staff.
- Advise on a range of specialist areas within the company e.g. fire regulations, use of hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
- Assist on radiation practices and liaise with Radiation Protection Authority for compliance with the RPA 2003.
What are we looking for?
- Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in related field with sound knowledge of the health & safety regulations.
- Good communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Excellent reporting skills & problem solving skills.
