Chartreuse Group is looking for a Safety & Health Assistant responsible for ensuring that the organisation complies with health and safety regulations to protect the health, safety, and welfare of all employees in the workplace.
Position Overview:
The Safety & Health Assistant will be responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe working environment. This role includes conducting risk assessments, implementing safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Role & Responsibilities
• Keep up to date with all relevant Safety & Health legislation.
• Ensure employees are provided with protective equipment and clothing.
• Provide first aid assistance whenever required.
• Organise Safety & Health training to concerned employees to promote awareness.
• Conduct risk assessment at regular intervals and implement precautionary measures.
• Liaise with the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Training.
• Ensure a valid Lodging Accommodation Permit, and basic facilities for a comfortable stay for expatriates.
• Maintain well documented reports on incidents and/or accidents and near misses.
• Any other cognate duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualifications & Experience
• A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management.
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role.
Knowledge, Skills & Attitude
• Knowledge and application of safety management and legal compliance.
• Good knowledge of relevant legislation and its application.
• Good verbal and written communication in both English and French.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to promote safety awareness at workplace.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• Valid manual driving licence for private car.
