Join the Cardinal Group as a Full Stack PHP Developer. Our team is looking to add a Full Stack PHP Developer with at least four years of professional experience to aid in the development of our suite of products across the different companies in the group.
As a successful candidate, you will learn from talented, fun-loving developers breaking down complex problems into simple solutions. You will have the passion for software architecture and design and will enjoy building robust scalable applications in a cross-platform environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop MVC framework based applications and features for the insurance platform.
- Working with a team of analysts, architects, project managers and testers you will be taking the solutions through their full development lifecycle and will be working closely with the business.
The key skills and experience you will bring to this role include:
- Strong experience across PHP Development
- A good working knowledge of PHP MVC frameworks such as Laravel, and Symfony.
- Experience of building web applications using Javascript frameworks such as Angular, React, VueJs etc.
- Knowledge of database development, ideally SQL
- Exposure to an Agile Development Methodology would be beneficial
- Knowledge in Azure Cloud or AWS would be beneficial
- Experience in CI/CD (such as Azure Devops Pipelines)
- Experience with development approaches such as TDD and BDD (PHPUnit)
- Knowledge of dependency management tools (such as npm, Composer etc.)
Other desirable skills include:
- Continuous Integration experience
- Atlassian Suite knowledge (Jira in particular)
- Git
- Powershell, Linux Command Line
- Python scripting
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or higher
Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in systems design, development.
- Excellent Communication skills
