Officer, Banking Operations (Credit Operations)

 

First Capital Shared Services ltd is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Officer, Banking
Operations to join our Credit Operations team. This role will involve handling a variety of tasks related
to credit applications, transactions, and reporting while ensuring compliance with established
procedures and service level agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities:

Operational Processing for Credit Operations
• Monitor incoming emails for new requests, instructions, and queries.
• Track and manage customer requests and diary items using workflow tools.
• Process credit application requests from various countries, received via email or workflow systems.
• Perform pre-processing checks on supporting documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain regular communication with countries for business-asusual operations.
• Investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies efficiently.
• Execute transactions in accordance with process notes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Manage time effectively to meet SLA requirements across all FCB entities.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills to identify issues and propose solutions.
 
Transaction Control & Reporting
• Ensure accurate posting of accounting entries, with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Finacle Core and Credit Operations menus for Loans, Overdrafts, and Limits setting is a definite advantage.
• Complete daily system reports and uploads as required.
• Support the preparation of Management Information (MI) reports and statistics.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date registers and proper electronic filing systems.
• Report errors or incidents to the Line Manager promptly and accurately.
• Generate incident reports in compliance with SLA requirements.
• Adhere to established process notes for each Credit Operations product.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) when required.
 
Compliance & Development
• Follow all bank policies and procedures diligently.
• Complete necessary attestations and training programs.
• Attend required meetings and actively contribute to discussions.
• Identify operational gaps and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Assist in the development and implementation of process/system improvements.
 
Team Collaboration
• Practice open communication and share knowledge and best practices within the team.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth business-as-usual operations.
• Be available for tasks outside of regular working hours when needed, particularly in case of urgent or crisis situations.
• Build positive working relationships within the team and across departments.
• Support organizational activities and demonstrate the company’s core values.
• Assist in training colleagues when requested.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department (HOD) or Management.

Qualifications & Skills:
• University degree in Finance/Banking or related field
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in the Banking Credit Operations
• Excellent time management skills to meet SLA requirements.
• Attention to detail with a good level of accuracy in data processing.
• Knowledge of Finacle Core or similar banking systems is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment from 10h to 19h.
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours when required.
