The Junior Legal Advisor and Compliance Assistant will support the Head of Legal in ensuring the organization adheres to applicable laws and regulations, maintains accurate documentation, and implements effective legal and compliance practices.
1. Review and Drafting of Commercial Legal Agreements
● Assist the Head of Legal in reviewing and drafting commercial agreements to ensure compliance
with company policies and applicable legal frameworks.
● Track changes in agreements and provide clear documentation of amendments.
● Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address legal risks and ensure alignment
before finalizing agreements.
2. Document Management and Filing
● Manage the electronic filing of agreements signed through DocuSign or other methods within 48
hours of finalization.
● Periodically review shared drive folders to ensure agreements are categorized, filed consistently,
and easily retrievable.
● Provide training to system users on proper document filing procedures.
3. Minute-Taking and Administrative Support
● Attend meetings as required and take accurate and detailed minutes.
● Prepare and distribute meeting minutes in a timely manner, ensuring follow-up actions are clearly
documented and assigned.
● Support the Head of Legal/Group Governance Compliance and Risk Manager in maintaining
accurate records of compliance and legal discussions.
4. Compliance Monitoring and Reporting
● Assist in monitoring statutory and regulatory compliance processes across departments.
● Ensure evidence of compliance reviews, along with outcomes, is documented and reported quarterly
to relevant committees.
● Support the Head of Legal in identifying areas of improvement in the compliance process and
implementing enhancements.
5. Contract Management
● Manage the contract lifecycle, including the initiation, revision, approval, and filing of agreements.
● Ensure adherence to the Contract Authority Signing Matrix and coordinate signatures with relevant
parties.

6. Legal Support and Risk Mitigation
● Assist the Head of Legal in identifying and addressing legal risks in agreements.
● Draft clauses to mitigate risks (e.g., liability caps, confidentiality, and termination provisions).
● Engage with requesting parties and external stakeholders under the guidance of the Head of Legal.
7. Aircraft Documentation Audit
● Support the Head of Legal in conducting audits of aircraft-related documents to ensure traceability of
ownership, lessor, and lessee information.
● Assist in identifying gaps in documentation and implementing action plans to resolve issues.
● Ensure all traced documents are accurately categorized and filed in the correct folders.
8. Compliance Process Maintenance
● Track non-aviation-related statutory laws and regulations applicable to the company.
● Ensure compliance processes are effectively monitored and documented, and evidence is reported
to the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC).
● Draft quarterly reports detailing compliance activities, areas for improvement, and resolutions.
9. General Administrative Assistance
● Provide administrative support to the Head of Legal, including scheduling meetings, organizing legal
files, and managing correspondence.
● Conduct research on legal and compliance matters as needed.
● Support the Head of Legal in preparing reports, presentations, and other documentation.
Educational Background/Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
● 1-2 years of experience in commercial law and/or compliance roles is preferred.
● Knowledge of Mauritian statutory and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
Skills:
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Excellent written and verbal communication.
● Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
● Familiarity with document management systems and legal compliance frameworks.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and DocuSign is preferred.
