We are searching for a Head Chef to join our young and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a love for creating delicious pastries, with a strong focus on quality and presentation. We would consider a strong junior candidate looking to step into a supervisor position for this role.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Ensure all food items meet the quality standards of the coffee shop in terms of taste, texture, and presentation.
- Leading the kitchen team in a hands on manner in terms of food production and service.
- Conduct regular checks on the freshness and quality of baked goods, ensuring all items are stored properly.
- Work alongside other kitchen staff to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, especially during peak hours
- Maintain a clean, organised, and sanitary work environment at all times. Adhering to health and safety regulations, including safe food handling and hygiene practices.
- Develop new, creative and seasonal offerings in collaboration with management
- Maintain stock levels of ingredients, ensuring availability and minimising waste.
- Collaborate with the coffee shop manager to faciliate order placement
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- High level of intregrity and an excellent work ethic
- Excellent communication skills and and ability to work well within a team
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, decoration, and presentation
- Ability to work well under pressure, especially during busy hours
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Creative with an eye for detail and innovation in baking
- Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution is a plus, but not required.
