We are looking for a highly skilled Group Tax Manager to lead our global tax strategy and operations. International Tax experience is a non-negotiable requirement for this position.

 

We are looking for a highly skilled Group Tax Manager to lead our global tax strategy and operations. This pivotal role will involve ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations while optimizing the company’s tax position.

This position is based in Ebene, Mauritius.

Qualifications Required:

  • ACA / ACCA / CTA / CA qualified with significant post-qualification experience (PQE) in Financial Services.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in managing international tax matters, including transfer pricing, VAT, and corporate tax across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Deep understanding of cross-border transactions and demonstrated expertise in managing complex tax (re)structuring projects from start to finish.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and delegate tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with experience implementing new processes and policies.
  • Excellent MS Excel, Word, and accounting software skills.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to collaborate within a global team, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Desirable:

  • Experience with SAP.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement global tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Identify and manage tax risks, providing guidance on structuring and transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and new product launches.
  • Advise on tax implications for expansion into new jurisdictions or markets.

Tax Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all tax filings, including corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax, in operating jurisdictions.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, statutory reports, and financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP).
  • Manage tax audits and inquiries, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company.

Transfer Pricing & International Tax:

  • Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Monitor changes in international tax regulations (e.g., OECD guidelines) and evaluate their impact on the company’s tax strategy.

Tax Advisory & Support:

  • Provide advisory support to the finance team and other business units on tax matters related to CFD products, brokerage services, and financial trading.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and legal teams to ensure defensible and compliant tax positions.
  • Work closely with the GCFO, GFC, senior leadership, and external auditors to align the company’s tax strategy with broader business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all tax-related matters across the group.

Tax Risk Management:

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls over tax reporting and compliance.
  • Continuously assess the company’s tax risk profile and provide proactive recommendations to minimize exposure.
