The Manager - Payments will be the senior champion for the end-to-end management of the cards payments business. This role encompasses strategic planning, administration, and execution to ensure the successful delivery of business objectives.
Job Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Head of Cards, the Manager - Payments will develop a comprehensive roadmap, manage supplier and merchant relationships, and oversee the payments team to drive success. With a strong focus on innovation, the incumbent will ensure emerging revenue streams are fully integrated, aiming for an increased market share.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver customer-centric, competitive multi-channel payment solutions.
- Oversee the performance and seamless operation of the POS fleet deployed at merchant locations.
- Devise and implement strategies to engage, grow, and retain profitable customers across diverse segments.
- Champion exceptional customer service within Sales and Operations to support sustainable growth.
- Cultivate and maintain strong business partner relationships (internal and external) to achieve objectives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and card payment industry rules and regulations.
- Establish robust processes, policies, and procedures to drive operational efficiency and achieve Key Performance Areas (KPAs).
- Identify opportunities to enhance business processes and introduce innovative methods for improved performance.
- Lead key projects and initiatives to enhance overall business success.
- Establish and monitor service level parameters for timely and effective support service delivery.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, fostering ongoing upskilling for self and team.
- Provide leadership by motivating, coaching, and retaining staff, ensuring effective delegation and timely task completion.
- Analyze revenue and cost data, tracking performance against budget and making strategic recommendations to optimize volume and profitability.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role, preferably within the card or payments industry.
- Strong understanding of acquiring solutions and technical knowledge of POS systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- In-depth knowledge of the card industry and payment systems.
- Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate within tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Flexibility and the ability to establish personal priorities.
