Cost Accountant

Our client, Alteo Ltd, is looking for an enthusiastic person with interpersonal skills for the position of Cost Accountant in its shared services accounting department.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the budget preparation, cost monitoring and variance analysis.

The Cost Accountant will be called to be seconded to any of the subsidiaries of the Alteo Ltd. The first placement will be servicing the agro-business companies at Union Flacq.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in departmental budget preparation.
• Review transaction postings and coding in the ERP.
• Prepare monthly costs and KPI reports and highlight variances.
• Liaise with budget holders to obtain explanations in variances between actual and budget variances.
• Assist in end of month closing and ensure proper cut offs.
• Assists in the preparation of Audit schedules and liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Assists in preparation of statutory reports and submission as prescribed by legislation.

Profile:

• Minimum ACCA Level 2 / BSC in Finance or Accounting
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar position
• Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner
• Knowledge of accounting principles
