The Canteen Helper will support the operations of the canteen which offers food and beverage vending and other retail services. The employee has to ensure that the canteen is well stocked and maintain in the relevant records.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, hygiene, health and safety legislation, and organizational quality standards
- Assist in preparing both hot and cold beverages
- Help in the preparation and cooking of food
- Assist with general hosting duties
- Support the quality management of food and beverages
- Liaise, support, and assist other team members within the organization
- Provide general assistance in the kitchen as directed
- Maintain accurate records and accounts as required
- Set an example for kitchen team members in terms of commitment, work ethic, and personal character
- Responsibly use resources and help control expenses
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
- Communicate with the Canteen Manager regarding stock shortages
- Take initiative in cooking and be prepared to cover in case of staff absence
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Form 4
- Food Handlers Certificate
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in similar position.
