The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, materials, or personnel as required by the company. They ensure proper vehicle maintenance, follow traffic laws, and assist with loading and unloading when necessary.

Department: Logistics / Operations

Reports To: Logistics Manager / Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Driver is responsible for safely transporting goods, materials, or personnel from one location to another while ensuring timely deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and adherence to traffic laws and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Transportation & Delivery:

  • Drive company vehicles to transport goods, equipment, or personnel.
  • Ensure timely deliveries and pickups as per the assigned schedule.
  • Load and unload items safely, ensuring no damage during transit.
  • Verify the accuracy of delivery documents and obtain necessary signatures.

2. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:

  • Perform routine vehicle checks, including fuel, oil, tires, and lights.
  • Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and in good working condition.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company driving policies.

3. Compliance & Documentation:

  • Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are up to date.
  • Handle goods with care and report any damages or discrepancies.

4. Customer Service & Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and customers regarding delivery updates.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to clients when making deliveries.
  • Address any delivery concerns and report issues to manager or supervisor.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a driver (light/heavy vehicle as required).
  • Knowledge of road safety regulations and routes.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items if necessary.
  • Good communication and time-management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
