The Bartender supports the Beverage Manager to ensure the efficient operations of all bar lounges, bars, restaurants, special events and all Guest areas where beverage service activities take place.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greeting guests pleasantly as they approach the bar, promoting house drinks and using up-selling skills to increase revenues
- Prepare beverages requested by guests using established pouring standards and drink recipes to provide a consistent product to the guests and to control costs.
- Set up bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies.
- Perform pre- and post-shift work (empty/fill ice-bins, prepare garnishments, replenish/store snacks, etc.)
- Create and serve a range of beverages including classic cocktails, mixers, beer, wine and soft drinks etc.
- Check bar and seating areas for cleanliness and attractiveness ensuring all standards are aligned to company and local legislative standards. Inspect all equipment and machinery for proper operation. Sweep and mop the bar floor after shift. Wipe down counters, equipment, stools, chairs, tables, and other areas as required.
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons.
- Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines
- Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at close of shift
Candidate Requirements :
- Proven working experience as a Bartender of a minimum of 2+ years.
- Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments.
- Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
- Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations
- Flexibility in hours as you will be working rostered shifts and split shifts
- Creativity and bartending technique
- The level of service given while focusing intensely on the guest satisfaction
- Effective communication skills and a pleasant personality are a must.
- The possession of superior interactive skills is essential.
