Solana Beach Mauritius is looking for competent, committed, passionate, creative and enthusiastic candidates for the post of Baker
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are actually looking for a Baker with the following responsibilities:
- Prepare mise en place as per menu (room service a la carte/ midnight meal/ Takeaway Picnic Baskets)
- Room service a la carte
- Display and Set up of Breakfast buffet accordingly
- Take temperature of food products as instructed by Breakfast head Chef
- Handle simple food orders
- Perform any cognate duties assigned by head Baker and Pastry chef
- The Baker will report to the Pastry Chef
- Check production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to baker
- Measure and mix ingredients to form dough or batter, following recipes
- Use a variety of kitchen tools, including electric mixers, pans, rolling pins, and cutting tools
- Ensure preventive maintenance of equipment and check after repairs the proper functioning of same
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- At least NC 3 from a recognized institution relevant to that particular position
- A minimum 2 years` experience in the hotel industry will be an advantage
- A good knowledge in bread making variety and viennoiseries is a definite advantage
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Ability to handle pressure
- Proactive individual, with ability to work flexible hours
- Highly conscious about hygienic conditions and food safety
