The Associate –Credit Underwriting will be responsible to organise various Credit Committees (CC) , meetings and prepare credit packs, take minutes and other related administrative works related to such forums & meetings.

 

The Associate –Credit Underwriting will be responsible to organise various Credit Committees (CC) meetings and prepare credit packs, take minutes and other related administrative works related to such forums & meetings.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct timely credit reviews to efficiently manage portfolios and meet SLAs.
  • Recommend repayment plans based on financial data and credit analysis.
  • Analyze and determine the viability of projects for approval.
  • Prepare recommendations for credit committees and support decision-making.
  • Stay informed on changes in procedures and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Vet letters of offer and ensure they align with approval terms and conditions.
  • Resolve internal customer complaints and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Assist in developing and executing analytical initiatives to improve profitability.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on all credit facilities to management.
  • Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of credit-related documents and approvals.
  • Vet minutes of approval prepared by the secretary for accuracy and compliance.
  • Meet deadlines for regulatory reports and ensure they are accurate and timely.
  • Consult with internal customers to verify client discussions and agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, management, and internal audit.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, auditors, and clients.
  • Demonstrate strong numerical reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit excellent planning, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • Show proactive approach and effective communication skills in all interactions.
  • Prepare and maintain agendas and minutes for meetings and approvals.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed with high attention to detail and accuracy.

PREREQUISITES:

  • A degree in Banking and Finance from a recognized institution or an alternative qualification from a recognized institution in a field of study relevant to the scope of work, acceptable to the Bank
  • At least 3 years Banking experience is a must.

SKILLS:

  • Attentive to details and deadline driven, as well as able to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Well versed with processes in place and having the minimum basic credit knowledge.
  • Fair Knowledge of banking operations.
  • Good working knowledge of regulations within the financial sector would be a plus.
  • Ability to provide an appropriate level of attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, process driven environment
