The Lux Collective is hiring for the position of PURCHASING MANAGER based at SALT of palmar, Mauritius.

 

The incumbent will be responsible to:

  • Know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
  • Negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships with service providers and suppliers.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
  • Supervise and conduct regular stock checks and inventory controls as well as organise for replenishment so as to ensure that materials and supplies are available at all times.
  • Actively participate in the reception and stocking of materials and supplies.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.  
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of the store section and ensure that the storage of materials and supplies comply with the Health & Safety regulations.
  • Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information such as the purpose and handling of equipment and accessories used in the resort.

Qualifications

  • At least High School Certificate or equivalent qualifications.
  • Tertiary education at Advanced Diploma level or Degree level majoring in Business Administration or Logistics or Accounting related fields from a recognised institution or equivalent qualifications.

Previous Performance

  • A minimum of 10 years of working experience in a Retail or Purchasing department preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • A minimum of 2 years of working experience in a similar position.

  • Ability to work efficiently, effectively and independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Self-starter, technical skills and goal oriented.
  • Highly interactive and a great team player.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English language.
  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule.
  • A clean certificate of character is a must.
