Job Description

Join our prestigious team as we are seeking for a dedicated Head Butler to enhance the experience of our discerning guests in the tourism and travel industry. Our luxury establishment prides itself on offering unparalleled service, and we are looking for a professional who embodies this commitment.

As the Head Butler, you will play a vital role in ensuring that each guest enjoys a personalized and memorable experience. Your responsibilities will include managing the butler service team, overseeing daily operations, and crafting bespoke services that meet the high standards our guests expect.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in hospitality management or a related field. Your exceptional interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and passion for providing outstanding service will be essential in leading our team to new heights.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead, coach, and inspire the butler team, setting the tone for gracious, personalized service at every touchpoint
  • Act as the principal contact for villa, suite, and VIP guests — cultivating genuine relationships and anticipating preferences before they are voiced
  • Oversee pre-arrival profiling, bespoke in-villa set-ups, and memorable departure experiences
  • Champion St. Regis rituals — from the Afternoon Tea ceremony and Evening Turndown to the Midnight Supper tradition
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Spa, Concierge, and Activities to deliver seamless, cohesive experiences
  • Manage the butler pantry, equipment, and supply inventory to impeccable standards of readiness
  • Handle sensitive guest situations and special requests with composure, discretion, and resourcefulness
  • Drive team development through structured training, performance reviews, and daily briefings
  • Support the property's sustainability and community engagement commitments as a visible resort leader


What we are looking for:


  • Minimum 5 years of butler or personal assistant experience in a luxury resort or private household, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Deep knowledge of international etiquette, luxury lifestyle, and the expectations of discerning global travelers
  • Fluency in English and French — both essential for our international guest mix; a third language is a genuine advantage
  • Experience working in an Indian Ocean, island, or tropical resort environment is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with hotel PMS and guest preference management systems
  • Impeccable personal presentation, emotional intelligence, and an instinct for quiet, unobtrusive excellence
  • A warm, culturally curious personality that reflects the spirit of Mauritian hospitality
