Laundry Attendant

Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented and hardworking individual to join our Laundry Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the washing, drying, ironing, folding and handling of guest laundry, hotel linen and staff uniforms, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate washing machines, dryers, steam irons and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Sort, wash, dry, iron, fold and organise guest laundry, hotel linen and staff uniforms according to established procedures.
• Handle guest laundry and dry-cleaning requests, ensuring timely collection and delivery.
• Verify guest laundry items against the laundry list and report any discrepancies, stains or damages.
• Ensure guest clothing is processed using the appropriate equipment, chemicals and temperatures.
• Inspect all laundry items to ensure they meet the required cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Sort and prepare staff uniforms for washing, dry cleaning, pressing or repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and organisation within the laundry area.
• Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and laundry equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of laundry operations and ensure proper handling of linen and uniforms.
• Ensure guest belongings are handled with care, confidentiality and professionalism.
• Report immediately any valuables found in guest clothing to the supervisor.
• Assist in training new team members on laundry equipment and procedures.

Profile & Requirements

• Previous experience in a Laundry Department or similar position in the hospitality industry will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of laundry operations, washing procedures and fabric care.
• Ability to operate laundry machinery and equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when identifying stains, damages and discrepancies.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Reliable, honest and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to handle laundry-related duties.
• Customer-focused with a positive and proactive attitude.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
