Location: Various sites across Mauritius 

About the Role

GCC is seeking an experienced Site Agent to lead daily operations across its building and civil engineering projects. Reporting to the Head of Projects, you will oversee site activities, lead construction teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Site Operations & Planning: Plan and coordinate daily construction activities in line with approved drawings, specifications, and project programmes.

Team & Subcontractor Management: Lead site supervisors, workforce teams, and subcontractors to achieve project targets and maintain efficient site operations.

Progress & Resource Control: Monitor construction progress, labour productivity, material consumption, and equipment utilisation to meet project deadlines and cost targets.

Quality & HSE Compliance: Ensure compliance with quality standards, HSE requirements, and safe working practices across all site activities.

Technical Coordination & Handover: Resolve technical issues, coordinate inspections and corrective actions, and oversee snagging and project handover.

Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring: Maintain accurate site records and prepare progress reports on construction activities, resources, and operational performance.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience: A relevant Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 3-7 years of construction experience, including at least 3 years in a Site Agent, Senior Site Engineer, or equivalent site role.

Leadership & Personal Attributes: Strong leadership, organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Technical Competencies: Strong knowledge of construction drawings, site planning, work sequencing, quality control, HSE practices, and resource management.

Languages & IT Skills: Proficiency in English, French, and Mauritian Creole. Knowledge of Hindi, AutoCAD, and MS Project will be an advantage, alongside good working knowledge of MS Office.

Mobility: A valid Mauritian driving license is mandatory, with flexibility to travel across construction sites throughout Mauritius.
