Job Description

Key responsibilities:
  • Own and evolve our AWS environment: networking, IAM, and containerised workloads on EKS and ECS Fargate.
  • Design and run CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code across all environments, with safe rollout strategies (blue/green, canary).
  • Operate event-driven and messaging infrastructure (Kafka / MSK, SQS, Lambda), caching (Redis) and managed PostgreSQL.
  • Build monitoring, alerting and tracing; define SLOs for critical services; lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
  • Enforce strong security practice: secrets management, least-privilege IAM, native AWS security tooling, and support for regulatory and data-protection compliance.
  • Own backup, disaster recovery and cost optimisation across the AWS estate.
  • Contribute to Spring Boot services through bug fixes, features and API work, bringing an infrastructure-aware perspective to the code.
Job requisites:
  • 3–5+ years in DevOps, SRE or cloud infrastructure roles.
  • Strong hands-on AWS experience (EKS, ECS, VPC, RDS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager).
  • Kubernetes administration with Helm or Kustomize.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK.
  • CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins.
  • Docker, observability tooling, and working knowledge of Kafka / SQS and Redis.
  • Scripting in Bash or Python, and standard Git workflows.
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Real proficiency in Java / Spring Boot, beyond just deploying it.
  • Experience designing batch or scheduled workloads that recover cleanly from failure.
  • Exposure to OIDC / identity providers (e.g. Keycloak).
  • Experience running high-volume, transactional production systems.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline tooling (e.g. Snowflake, dbt).
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
