Ava Beach Restaurant is looking for an enthusiastic, professional, and service-oriented Waiter / Waitress to join our dynamic Food & Beverage team.

We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences, providing attentive service, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
• Provide efficient and attentive food and beverage service in accordance with restaurant standards.
• Present menus, explain dishes, and make recommendations based on guests' preferences.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely service.
• Promote menu items, daily specials, and beverages through effective upselling techniques.
• Maintain excellent knowledge of the restaurant's menu, ingredients, and beverage offerings.
• Ensure proper table setup, cleanliness, and presentation before, during, and after service.
• Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints professionally.
• Coordinate effectively with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service operations.
• Follow established hygiene, food safety, and service procedures.
• Assist with billing and POS operations when required.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience as a Waiter / Waitress in a restaurant or hotel environment.
• Good knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Excellent communication skills in English and French.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Good presentation, grooming, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented, reliable, punctual, and attentive to detail.
• Basic knowledge of wines, cocktails, and food pairing would be an advantage.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Candidates residing in the northern region of Mauritius will be given preference.
