Ava Beach Restaurant is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and hardworking Kitchen Steward / Plongeur to join our dynamic kitchen team.

The successful candidate will play an essential role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation while ensuring the smooth running of daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and sanitise kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and equipment.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and stewarding areas.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and organisation of kitchen equipment.
• Follow established food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
• Manage waste disposal and maintain cleanliness of garbage storage areas.
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and materials.
• Assist the kitchen brigade with general cleaning and operational duties.
• Report any equipment defects, breakages, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Support the kitchen team to ensure efficient daily operations.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in a similar position within a restaurant or hotel would be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Physically fit and capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Reliable, punctual, organised, and attentive to detail.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good team spirit.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Candidates residing in the northern region of Mauritius will be given preference.
