Job Description
Island Fresh ltd is seeking an experienced and dedicated Poultry Farm Supervisor to join our team. This role is based on Olivia, with the successful candidate reporting directly to the Farm Manager.
PROFILE
- Experience in supervisory level, poultry farming or any related field.
- Knowledge of poultry health and disease prevention with strong skills in animal welfare will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
- Flexible and capable of working during odd hours, including weekends and public holidays, as necessary.
- Familiar with farm equipment and the ability to operate and maintain machinery.
- Minimum F4 or equivalent; additional education or training in agriculture or animal science preferred.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will be expected to perform various duties associated with the supervision of a poultry farm, which may include but are not limited to:
- Supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in poultry raising and managing farm facilities.
- Assigning tasks to workers, including feeding and vaccinating poultry.
- Managing the upkeep and repair of facilities and equipment such as automatic feeders
- Training and monitoring new workers to ensure compliance with farm protocols and efficient workflow.
- Monitoring animal health and welfare and enforcing biosecurity measures during the production period.
- Daily inspection of poultry houses to remove any dead birds and keep accurate health records.
- Managing poultry litter through proper disposal and cleaning routines.
- Ensuring all biosecurity and animal welfare standards are upheld.
- Assisting the maintenance technician during the fallow period between production cycles.
- Coordinating with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure smooth farm operations.
