Farm Worker

Island Fresh Ltd is currently looking for an enthusiastic person with interpersonal skills for the above-mentioned opportunity for a new poultry farm situated at Olivia. The candidate will report to the Farm Manager.

PROFILE

• Previous experience in the field of farming activities and knowledge in general industrial maintenance will be an advantage.
• Good communication and reporting skills
• Flexible and trustworthy to work on a shift system including nights, weekends and public holidays.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be required to perform one or any combination of the following duties concerned with raising poultry for meat production.

• Involves in house preparation prior to reception of day-old chicks.
• Application of disinfectant in poultry houses and premises.
• Removes chicks from shipping cartons and places them in brooder houses.
• Assist farm supervisor in the administration of vaccines and any other medication.
• Daily inspection of poultry houses and removes dead poultry from flock and keep records.
• Daily management of poultry litter. Tilting or spreading of wood shavings.
• Perform bird catching operations during delivery periods.
• Perform all duties necessary for the good running of the farm.
• To follow and maintain all biosecurity standards during the production period.
• To perform all duties with respect to animal welfare.
• To assist the maintenance technician during the fallow period between production cycle.

The terms and conditions of employment will be governed by Livestock Workers (Remuneration) Regulations 2019.
