Boatman

The Boatman is responsible for providing safe, enjoyable, and high-quality boat excursions and water activities for hotel guests. This role involves operating various resort vessels, maintaining marine equipment, ensuring strict adherence to maritime safety protocols, and delivering exceptional customer service. Additionally, this position supports the beach and food & beverage teams by preparing the waterfront, setting up guest facilities, and providing attentive service on the beach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & MISSIONS

• Boathouse Operations: Execute the daily opening and closing procedures of the boathouse, ensuring all equipment is securely stored, locked, and accounted for at the end of the day.

• Beach & Transat Setup: Assist with the morning setup and evening pack-away of the beach area, including arranging transats (sun loungers), umbrellas, cushions, and towels to resort standards.

• Beach Guest Service: Proactively assist in the daily service of guests on the beach, providing towels, offering refreshments, answering queries, and ensuring a comfortable waterfront experience.

• Guest Relations: Welcome guests warmly, assist them with boarding and disembarking, and provide clear safety briefings before departure.

•  Vessel Operation: Safely navigate and operate hotel boats for excursions, snorkeling trips, sunset cruises, or guest transfers.

• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all passengers wear life jackets, monitor weather conditions constantly, and maintain valid maritime licenses and safety certifications.

• Maintenance & Cleanliness: Perform daily pre-departure checks, clean the vessel before and after trips, and report any mechanical issues immediately.

• Emergency Response: Act swiftly and effectively in emergency situations, utilizing first aid, CPR, and water rescue skills if necessary.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Certifications: Valid commercial skipper/boatman license, CPR/First Aid certification, and Lifeguard certification (preferred).
• Experience: Proven experience operating boats, preferably within a resort or hospitality environment.
• Skills: Strong swimming abilities, basic marine engine troubleshooting knowledge, and excellent communication skills.
• Attributes: Customer-oriented attitude, physical stamina to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and a strong commitment to safety.
