Job Description
We are looking for a motivated, organised, and proactive Accounts Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end reporting and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
The duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain proper records of customers’ accounts and purchasing activities using QuickBooks.
- Handle invoicing, including Commercial Invoices, Proforma Invoices, and Purchase Orders, through QuickBooks.
- Process accounting entries accurately and efficiently in the accounting system.
- Prepare payments and monitor creditors and debtors.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items.
- Follow up with suppliers and clients regarding orders, payments, and account-related matters.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database, ensuring all records are complete and properly filed.
- Assist with the month-end closing process in coordination with Head Managers.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of Management Accounts, subject to performance and experience.
- Meet deadlines and ensure assigned tasks are completed within the required timeframe.
- Perform other accounting duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong computer literacy and typing skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organised, proactive, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
