Job Description
C-Care Hospitals & Clinics Mauritius is currently looking for a In Patient Pharmacy Technician.
Reporting to the Principal Pharmacist, the In-Patient Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, accurate, and efficient provision of pharmaceutical services to in-patients. The role assists with the preparation, dispensing, storage, and distribution of medications, while ensuring compliance with established pharmacy procedures, medication safety standards, and hospital protocols
What you will be doing:
- Prepare and dispense of medications for in-patients.
- Receive, check, and process medication orders and prescriptions under the supervision of the pharmacist.
- Prepare and label medications accurately according to approved procedures.
- Ensure timely supply and delivery of medications to inpatient wards.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of medicines and pharmacy supplies.
- Assist with regular stock counts, inventory checks, and reconciliation of pharmacy stock.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines in accordance with temperature, security, and handling requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of medication issued, returned, and transferred.
- Assist in managing controlled and high-risk medicines (dangerous drugs) in accordance with the established procedures.
- Liaise with nursing teams and other departments regarding medication requirements and discrepancies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and medication-related information.
Qualifications & Experience:
- SC or any other equivalent qualifications accepted by the management
- Experience in In-patient medication dispensing and distribution will be an advantage
- Knowledge of hospital pharmacy procedures and controlled medication handling will be an advantage.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use pharmacy/hospital management systems.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays, as required by hospital operations.
