C-Care Hospitals & Clinics Mauritius is currently looking for a Junior Asset Auditor.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Junior Asset Auditor is responsible for supporting the maintenance, verification, and monitoring of the hospital's fixed assets. The role assists with asset audits, physical verification exercises, asset tracking, and reconciliation of records to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the hospital's asset register. The position provides an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in asset management, internal controls, and healthcare operations.
What you will be doing:
- Assist in conducting periodic physical verification of hospital assets, including medical equipment, IT equipment, furniture, fixtures, and vehicles.
- Ensure all assets are properly tagged, identified, and recorded.
- Verify asset tags, locations, custodians, and asset conditions during audit exercises.
- Report discrepancies between physical assets and the fixed asset register.
- Participate in annual and cyclical asset stock counts.
- Support the updating and maintenance of the fixed asset register.
- Assist in recording asset additions, transfers, disposals, and write-offs.
- Ensure supporting documentation is properly maintained and filed.
- Verify that newly acquired assets are appropriately tagged and recorded.
- Prepare working papers, schedules, and audit documentation.
- Follow up on outstanding asset discrepancies and audit findings.
- Support investigations into missing, damaged, or unrecorded assets.
- Ensure compliance with hospital asset management policies and procedures.
- Help monitor asset movements between departments and locations.
- Support the implementation of asset control measures and tracking systems.
- Escalate control weaknesses or non-compliance issues to management.
- Prepare routine asset verification reports and reconciliation schedules.
- Maintain records of audit observations and corrective actions.
- Provide accurate data for management reporting and external audits.
- Assist in preparing documentation for year-end financial audits
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum HSC
- 1-3 years in a medical establishment will be an advantage
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools
