Job Description

Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and trustworthy General Cashier/Accounts Officer to join our Finance team at Shangri-La Le Touessrok Resort & Spa.

The role is responsible for accurate cash handling, daily reconciliations, financial reporting and ensuring compliance with established procedures and internal controls.

As a General Cashier/Accounts Officer, we rely on you to:

  • Receive, verify, record and safeguard all cash, cheques and other forms of payment received by the Resort.
  • Prepare daily cash reports and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and properly supported by relevant documentation.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of cash collections against system records and promptly investigate and report any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and organise daily deposits and ensure all banking procedures are completed accurately and within the required timelines.
  • Maintain proper records of cash floats, petty cash and other cash-related transactions, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Verify and process cash advances, reimbursements and other authorised payments in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
  • Coordinate closely with the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Front Office and other relevant departments to ensure smooth and accurate financial transactions.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of General Cashier reports, journals and supporting documentation for month-end closing and financial reporting.
  • Ensure all financial records, receipts, vouchers and reconciliation documents are properly filed and readily available for audit and reference.
  • Adhere strictly to the Resort’s policies, Standard Operating Procedures, internal controls, confidentiality requirements and Shangri-La Guiding Principles.

Qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Previous experience in a cashiering or accounting role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle cash and confidential financial information with integrity and discretion.
  • Good knowledge of basic accounting principles and reconciliation procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A reliable, responsible and team-oriented approach.
