Job Description
The F&B Telephone Operator is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing telephone communications efficiently and professionally, ensuring accurate call handling and providing courteous assistance to patients, visitors, doctors, staff, and external callers. The role supports effective hospital communication by promptly transferring calls, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to established communication procedures and emergency protocols, and escalating urgent matters to the appropriate departments.The incumbent is also responsible for accurately collecting, recording, and communicating patient meal selections through the C-Cater system in accordance with approved menus, prescribed dietary requirements, and hospital procedures. The role requires maintaining accurate patient information, dietary preferences, and meal requests while collaborating with nursing teams and relevant departments to support safe, timely, and patient-centered meal service delivery. The F&B Telephone Operator ensures compliance with food safety standards, confidentiality requirements, quality standards, and departmental policies at all times.
Qualifications
Formal education required for competence in the job
SC or HSC
Certificate/Diploma in Customer Service, Hospitality, Administration or related field
Experience in customer service, administration, hospitality, or healthcare settings, with a background in telephone and switchboard operations and delivering professional customer service.
Experience
1-3 years
Strong communication and customer service skills, with experience in telephone/switchboard operations, hospital communication systems, call handling, and emergency response procedures. Proficient in computer applications and committed to delivering professional, efficient, and confidential service.
