Job Description
The Bar Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily bar operations, ensuring excellent guest service, effective cost control, and high standards of quality, cleanliness, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily bar operations, ensuring drinks, mise en place, cleanliness, and service meet hotel standards.
- Lead, coach, motivate, and support bar team members to achieve service and performance objectives.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, handle complaints and requests professionally, and ensure prompt resolution.
- Maximize beverage sales and support promotions and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Monitor beverage stock, expiry dates, stock-takes, recipes, and inventory records.
- Ensure accurate billing, POS procedures, breakage records, checklists, and guest feedback records.
- Assist the Bars Manager with budgeting, cost control, inventory management, and profitability.
- Minimize wastage, breakage, and unnecessary costs while ensuring proper handling of company property.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, Fire, Health, Hygiene, and Safety standards.
- Prepare and manage staff rosters, timesheets, workload distribution, and departmental briefings.
- Maintain high standards of grooming, professionalism, teamwork, and communication.
- Assist with recruitment, training, performance management, coaching, and development of team members.
- Conduct risk assessments and report accidents or incidents as required.
- Coordinate effectively with other hotel departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Support management in achieving departmental objectives, budgets, sales targets, and service standards.
- Comply with applicable employment legislation, including the Workers’ Rights Act and Catering and Tourism Industries Remuneration Order.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
