Job Description

Job Purpose / Summary

As a Junior Payroll Analyst, you will support the delivery of payroll services to a portfolio of clients. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical payroll expertise within a structured consulting environment.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and processing of payroll for multiple clients
  • Capture, validate, and maintain employee payroll data
  • Assist in payroll calculations, including salaries, overtime, deductions, and benefits
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and assist with variance analysis
  • Prepare standard payroll reports for clients
  • Support statutory filings and ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Respond to internal and client payroll queries in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with audit and compliance standards
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements


Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field
  • 1–3 years’ experience in payroll or finance (internship experience acceptable)
  • Basic knowledge of Mauritian payroll regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with payroll systems is an advantage

Technical Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll data processing
  • Basic understanding of payroll calculations and statutory requirements in Mauritius
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to perform payroll reconciliations and identify discrepancies
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and data management practices (advantageous)
  • Ability to maintain accurate records in line with audit and compliance standards
