As a Steward in our hotel, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and dining areas. Your responsibilities will include dishwashing, equipment maintenance, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Dishwashing:
- Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment.
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen items ensuring cleanliness and hygiene.
2. Cleaning and Sanitization:
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel standards.
3. Equipment Maintenance:
- Report any malfunctioning kitchen equipment to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on kitchen equipment.
4. Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team, service staff, and other departments.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- The role involves standing for long periods and may require lifting and carrying of kitchen equipment.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
