Maradiva Villas Resort and Spa is currently looking for Spa Therapist to join our 5 Star Luxury Hotel.

 

Job Role Summary:

The Spa Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to our guests. They must have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities, possess a general understanding of body treatments and be willing to train in our spa’s specific massage and body treatment offerings. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our guests.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Be on time on your shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
  • Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with Maradiva Spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
  • Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific wellness concerns.
  • Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
  • Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required.
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
  • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests.
  • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff daily, weekly & monthly communication meetings for the spa.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention
  • Work hours/days vary as dictated by business needs, and may include weekends and holidays.
  • Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains an excellent standard of customer service.
  • Ensure health and safety is to the highest standard and that guests are advised on the effective and safe use of all spa facilities during their spa visits.
  • Take personal responsibility for the maintenance, repair and security of spa equipments and the satisfactory appearance to ensure the meeting of guest expectations.
  • Work independently and proactively provide assistance to all guests using the spa facilities each day.
  • Assist with the opening & closing set up of the Spa, Fitness Centre & Kids Club.
  • Be prepared to move between different operational areas i.e. Spa, Fitness Center, kids club & boathouse according to operational needs of the business.
  • To provide the guests with high quality of service at every stage of their spa experience.
  • To be present 5 mins before the guest arrival to greet the guest at the reception. Should take feedback from the receptionist before the guest arrival or before taking the guest for the treatment, for their medical concerns and preferences
  • To advise the guest of the sequence of the treatment by explaining the treatment & procedures.
  • To check whether guest has any allergies or injuries prior to the treatment or previous medical history which prevent him or her from undergoing the spa treatment.
  • To assist the guests in selecting their treatment & explain the treatment procedures especially if the guest has not had a spa treatment before & check for any contra-indications.
  • To ensure proficiency of all treatments offered at the Spa & have a good working knowledge of all spa facilities.
  • To have a thorough knowledge of all skin care, body & spa products being used at the Spa & be able to use & prescribe products appropriately.
  • To ensure that hygiene standards are adhered to at all times & disinfecting the treatment surfaces & equipments between treatments as per laid down standards/procedures.
  • To ensure personal hygiene.
  • To ensure that the Spa treatment room is neat, clean & tidy at all times & help in retaining the aesthetic beauty of the same.
  • To adhere to the laid down grooming standards and be in neat & clean uniforms.
  • To coordinate with the Receptionist regarding the daily appointments by allocating the time accordingly.
  • To record all guests & treatment details for the guest data base.
  • To brief the Spa Director/Supervisors/Receptionist or any feedback received & any follow-up on work to be carried out by the Maintenance, Landscaping and Purchasing Department.
  • To conduct all treatments professionally.  Therapists are not to compromise either themselves by permitting any guest to act inappropriate.  In such cases, the therapists should politely excuse from the treatment & report to the Spa Director/Supervisors/Receptionist.
  • To update one’s kills by participating in the training as may be imparted from time to time.
  • To carry out any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time.
  • Assist Spa Supervisors in maintaining the inventory of all items placed in the spa.
  • Keep all front & back of the house areas of spa including storage areas clean and organized
  • Carry out Spa Therapist Daily, Weekly & Monthly task lists. Please consult the Therapist Check lists for reference.
  • Attend Spa Therapist in-house trainings with existing/new comers to increase the overall efficiency of spa operations.
  • Report any damaged or missing items or maintenance repair needs to your Director/ Supervisors/Therapist/Receptionist/Instructors.
  • Helps ensure facility is only accessed by actual guests and that it is safe and secure at all times
  • Acknowledge and greet everyone who enters and leaves spa facilities.
  • Maintain eye contact when addressing external and internal guests.
  • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Should always be discrete and quite in guest areas.
  • Ensure cleanliness of The Maradiva Spa –maintain the cleanliness of the external and internal areas, remove and replenish used supplies and sanitize as appropriate.
  • Keep reception and waiting areas clean at all times while upholding the serene atmosphere at The Maradiva Spa. Help and assist other team members as required.
