About the Vacancy

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Sous Chef to lead our culinary team at our cluster RIU Turquoise and RIU Palace Mauritius, located in Le Morne, Mauritius. This role focuses on delivering exceptional dining experiences through innovative and high-quality cuisine.

 

What Are We Looking For?

  • Experience: Extensive experience in a senior culinary role, preferably international career in luxury resorts or hotels.
  • Educational Background: A degree or certification in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Culinary Expertise: Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for creating innovative dishes.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, train, and inspire a diverse kitchen team.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in french is an advantage.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Creativity: Ability to create and maintain high standards of presentation and taste.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Development: Assist in developing and updating the menu to reflect current trends and guest preferences and following the head office standards
  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and high standards of food quality.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor the kitchen team to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
  • Quality Control: Maintain consistency in food preparation and presentation across all dining outlets.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards in all kitchen operations.
  • Cost Management: Assist in managing kitchen budgets, controlling costs, and minimizing waste.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Chef and other departments to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
