Our client in the Agro-Industry is seeking to recruit a Senior Accounts Officer who will report to the Accounts Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Manage Debtors:
- Improve recovery rate ratios (regular follow-ups, resolution of conflictual accounts, sending invoices & SOAs, issuing written reminders, issuing formal letters, organising and attending to meetings with key client accounts when needed).
- Pro-active management of debtors and client list to ensure an efficient billing process.
- Update Debtors 'report on a monthly basis with updated comments & action points highlighting potential up coming issues.
- Organize and report to Debtor's Committee on a monthly basis, follow-up and report on action points from previous meeting.
- Update reports and lead Debtor's Committee meetings on a monthly basis with proper action plan.
- Supervise, co-ordinate, provide assistance and review the work of Accounts Officers of the accounts receivable section.
Improve handling of clients and debtors related issues such as (but not limited to):
- Ensure that any discount discrepancies & pricing related issues are reconciled in a timely manner.
- Ensure the accurate allocation of payments to client's account.
- Input of journal entries for clients when needed.
- Carry out reconciliation of inter department / company sales.
- Assist with queries on Stock & Sales System.
- Understand, analyze and report on cash collection performance.
- Ensure that un-paid cheques and other missing or variances are promptly monitored and reported.
- Ensure that cash controls are effective, and that daily salesmen remittances are being reconciled to bank lodgments.
- Participate actively to new projects pertaining to Sales & Debtors process optimisation of current process flows.
Profile:
- Holder of a Higher School Certificate with Accounts or alternative equivalent qualifications.
- Having completed ACCA level 2 or alternative equivalent qualifications.
- At least 5 years relevant work experience.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to details.
