Reporting to the General Manager of LUX* Grand Gaube, the incumbent will be responsible to monitor, develop and implement effective Safety & Health policies and procedures whilst promoting a safe environment for all Team Members, Guests and any person present on the property.
• Advise on, recommend and ensure implementation of all obligations
imposed by law with respect to Safety & Health matters.
• Perform and update risks assessments for the resort.
• Set up a proper H & S policy, answering to the needs of the resort and
supporting the development of OSH policies and programs.
• Follow up on all legal requirements including fire certificates,
premises’ and dormitories’ permits.
• Health & Safety Inspections of premises including dormitories (if any)
and provision of visit report shall be made on a regular basis.
• Assist any inspection done by the Ministry of Labour, Fire Services,
Ministry of Environment and Tour Operators.
• Conduct safety induction sessions every time new team members are
recruited as well as on the job training.
• Perform regular site visits to ensure the safety of any person on the
hotel premises.
• Provide risk mitigation strategies and recommendations to the
leadership team on best practices.
• Ensure all notifiable machineries are inspected as per OSHA 2022.
• Planning of training requirements and ensure that number of first
aiders are as per legal requirements.
• Ensuring that all PPEs are according to norms and certificates of
compliance.
• Produce comprehensive accident investigation reports and follow up
accordingly.
• To provide Monthly Health & Safety reports (injury, recommendations,
meetings and accident).
• Ensure that all Fire Equipment and First Aid Kits are verified by
concerned departments on a frequent basis.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Registered Safety & Health Officer under the OSH Act 2022.
• Fully conversant in Food Safety and HACCP.
• Passionate about service.
• High level of integrity.
• Proactive, dynamic, flexible and professional attitude with
strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Well versed in Safety & Health Management trends and support
the development of OHS policies and program.
• Strong knowledge of accident and incident investigations.
• Prepare reports and provide statistical information.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Package.
• Excellent written and communication skills in both English and
French languages with ability to present and explain H&S topics.
• Clean certificate of character is a must.
