Ekium AMIO Ltd is a growing engineering company based in Mauritius and part of the French EKIUM Group, a world leader in engineering design.

 

We are looking for an experienced PHP Symfony Developer to join our team. In this role, you will work on developing high-performance applications, ensuring scalable and reliable solutions that meet our business requirements. This position is ideal for someone who is highly skilled in PHP and Symfony and passionate about developing efficient web applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable PHP code, with a focus on Symfony framework.
  • System design and architecture: Collaborate with the team to design and implement technical solutions that align with business needs.
  • Optimize applications for performance and scalability: Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Database management: Create and optimize database queries using MySQL or other relevant database systems.
  • Testing and debugging: Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure optimal application functionality.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of developed code and application features.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

Requirements

  • Proven experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in PHP development, with a strong background in Symfony framework.
  • Technical skills:
    • Proficiency in PHP, Symfony (latest versions), and other PHP frameworks is a plus.
    • Solid knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.).
    • Strong understanding of MVC architecture and OOP principles.
    • Experience with MySQL databases and database management.
    • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Problem-solving abilities: Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Desired Skills

  • Experience with other PHP frameworks, Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD tools.
  • Knowledge of front-end frameworks like React or Vue.js.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
