We are looking for a committed and detail-oriented **Operations Associate** to support our Operations Manager in overseeing international logistics and procurement for chemical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Operations Manager in coordinating international shipments and managing logistics workflows.
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and shipping agents to ensure that goods are delivered on schedule.
- Source and negotiate the best prices for chemical products to fulfil client requirements.
- Prepare and maintain key shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
- Track shipments, monitor quotes received, and provide status updates to relevant stakeholders, such as clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and maintain accurate documentation for all transactions.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of logistics and procurement processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International business or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in international logistics, shipping, or procurement is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with different teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for managing daily tasks and reports.
- Familiarity with chemical logistics or hazardous material regulations is a plus; specific certifications such as IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) or IATA (International Air Transport Association) certifications are highly desirable.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
