Mechanical Department Leader

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Mechanical Department Leader to take charge of an innovative team and lead critical functions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead & Inspire: Provide expert advice and technical assistance to team leaders, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous growth and improvement.
• Streamline Operations: Develop, refine, and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Resource Management: Ensure the mechanical department has the right people, skills, and tools to meet business demands, driving success through careful planning and resource allocation.
• Work Allocation: Organize and distribute tasks within the team, working closely with the Network Manager to achieve optimal performance.
• Equip for Success: Manage department equipment, including hardware, software tools, and licenses, ensuring everything is up-to-date and well-maintained.
• Develop Talent: Maintain a detailed skills matrix for all mechanical staff, identifying training and development opportunities to build a high-performing team.
• Drive Performance: Lead performance management processes, conducting appraisals and ensuring productivity targets are met while motivating your team to reach their full potential.
• Build Relationships: Foster strong, positive relationships with customers and suppliers, ensuring smooth interactions and collaboration.
• Stay on Track: Follow-up on activities and provide clear, insightful reports to the Manager to ensure goals are met on time and within budget.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in the mechanical field
• Expertise in technical documentation and process development
• Familiarity with automotive product development cycles
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills; fluent in both English and French
• Proactive, solution-oriented attitude with a focus on results
• Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
