Vuna Capital Trustees (Mauritius) Ltd is recruiting an FSC (Financial Services Commission) approved Compliance Officer (CO) and Money Laundering Report Officer (MLRO)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out duties of CO/MLRO and as per local regulatory requirements, including overseeing all compliance monitoring program for the MC and its clients, and further, prepare periodic report for the Board of the MC and Board of client entities.
  • Assist Manager Corporate and Trust and administration team for onboarding of clients and conduct ongoing screening and transaction monitoring.
  • Conduct testing and file reviews (including CDD review) based on risk assessment of all client entities.
  • Create, review and/or update compliance reports.
  • Create, review and/or update AML/CFT policies and procedures for client entities.
  • Deliver and/or prepare AML/CFT training in house, if required source third-party training opportunities.
  • Follow developments in local and/or international regulatory landscape and suggest implementation plans.
  • Assist Manager Corporate and Trust and Manager Operations on risk assessments, AML/CFT queries and provide guidance to them.
  • Reply to queries by administration team within agreed timeframe and deadlines.
  • Liaise with local authorities such as FSC and FIU and maintain good rapport.
  • Take on ad hoc assignments and complete within agreed timeframe set out by the Management
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the management
  • Perform monitoring function to identify suspicious dealings/ behavior and potential drivers of suspicious transactions
  • File STR with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), giving reasons for the suspicion and background information
  • Act as the main point of contact with FIU, by attending queries in relation to STR files or any other FIU enquiries
  • Attend internal and external training on AML/CFT areas
  • Undertake regular research to remain fully up to date with AML/CFT legislation, and new AML/CFT measures/ strategie
  • Receive and provide feedback on Internal STRS with reference to available business information
  • Evaluate and make a determination on whether an internal STR has merit and should be reported to FIU
  • File internal disclosures not reported to FIU for future analysis in case a further internal disclosure is made about same client
  • Maintain an internal register of both internal and externalised STRs and to be guided by the MLRO Charter
  • Document the outcome of the MLRO function evaluation and determination process in respect of STR

 

Qualification & Skills Required:

  • Approved officer by FSC - satisfying competency standards of FSC to act as CO and MLRO.
  • A degree and/or professional qualification in finance and/or legal or other relevant qualification
  • Good knowledge of applicable laws and regulations for the Global Business with at least 5years of relevant experience.
  • Expert knowledge of AML/CFT issues with appropriate references.
  • Experience in designing Compliance Monitoring Plans, conducting assurance testing of AML/CFT controls and completing FSC/IMF Surveys.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver within set deadlines.
