Our client in the agricultural sector is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join its team.

 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the fleet management system (FMS), overseeing fuel logistics, coordinating equipment transfers, ensuring compliance with fitness and permit requirements, managing insurance policies, and maintaining effective communication with various institutions and authorities.
Responsibilities:

Fleet Management System (FMS):
  • Monitor fuel usage and vehicle locations to optimise fleet operations using FMS.
  • Analyse FMS data to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Maintain and ensure proper functioning of GPS tracking equipment.

Fuel Logistics and Delivery Control:
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor diesel deliveries and stock replenishments across various sites.
  • Conduct daily diesel deliveries and manage inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and address any discrepancies.
  • Analyse fuel consumption and report anomalies.

Equipment Transfers:
  • Organise and coordinate the safe transfer of equipment between company sites.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment transfers to prevent loss or damage.

Follow up Fitness, Declarations, and Permits:
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment comply with legal requirements.
  • Schedule inspections and renewals to prevent operational disruptions.
  • Manage communications with authorities regarding permits and licenses.

Insurance Management:
  • Oversee insurance policies for vehicles, equipment, and company operations.
  • Assist in claims management and ensure coverage aligns with business needs.

Equipment Identification and Tracking:
  • Implement a system for the unique identification and tracking of company machines and equipment.
  • Maintain up-to-date records to optimise equipment use and lifespan.

Support Equipment Logistics:
  • Manage the planning and utilization of support equipment such as cranes, trucks, and service vehicles.

Liaise with local Authorities:
  • Handle official correspondence and maintain relationships with local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure company compliance with local regulations.

Inventory Management:
  • Conduct regular inventory checks for all company equipment.
  • Coordinate the transfer of non-operational equipment in consultation with site managers.
Profile:

  • Qualification in Logistics, Management or related field.
  • Experience in a similar position would be an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Familiarity with fleet management systems and logistics processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
