DHL Global Forwarding Mauritius has an opening for a Business Development Specialist where you will develop and administer business development plans and processes to generate new/ additional business, maximize profit and grow market share in line with business strategy, financial objectives, Group guidelines and policies. In this Business Development Specialist position

 

  • You will support administration of business development plans and processes to achieve targeted customer growth and retention rate, revenue targets and budgets.
  • You will develop new business and maximize exposure for DHL amongst targeted prospects.
  • You will use information and insights from market studies and feasibility studies to assess market potential.
  • You will identify new business development opportunities and initiate contact with prospects.
  • You will identify prospective customer needs and matches these with DHL’s services.
  • You will pursue leads, conduct pre-proposal visitations, prepare proposals, and discuss terms of sale to close.
  • You will develop relationships with prospects and potential key accounts.
  • You will initiate new business relationships with non-buying accounts that have been targeted by the company Manages a defined portfolio of potential customers and wins them for a lasting business relationship with DGF.
  • You will seek and prospect for BC & MNC targets to win new customers generally in the 60k-1000k Euro range Net Sales per annum.
  • You will plan and manage medium to large - sized Business Customers provision that is aligned to corporate sales policy and procedures.
  • You will adhere to approved credit limits granted to customers and enforce previously agreed payment terms.
  • You will be responsible for closing business by connecting a customer’s needs to a DHL solution by offering value to the clients supply chain.
  • You will use networks within the various Sales channels within DPDHL to collaborate on customers, marketing strategies and offers a full supply chain of services to service customer needs.
  • You will coordinate for meeting customer requests and sell services that are being promoted.
  • You will coordinate sales efforts with inside sales and provide flow of data on account competitors and suppliers to product management.
  • You will identify problems that may not be clear in own area of authority and modify work methods accordingly without the benefit of defined procedures.
  • You will explain facts, practices, policies, etc. to both internal and external parties adhering to narrowly defined procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • You will prepare and realize planned sales calls.
  • You will be responsible for product targets.
  • You will be responsible for budgeted growth in new and additional business.
  • You will secure/collect all necessary information to assess credit worthiness of potential customer.
  • You will support receivables functions.
  • You will ensure Customer commitments are clearly communicated to respective operations – clear business set up process.
  • You will report activities, quotes, sales calls and other information through SALES 360, QUOTE SHOPS.
  • You will perform roles and responsibilities in compliance with Company Policies, Procedures, and Instructions.
  • You may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
  • You will support and interact primarily with colleagues of own function.
  • You will build relationships and understand customer and key stakeholders’ interests and concerns.
  • You will address task-related issues appropriately to maintain work relationships.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
  • At least 2 years’ experience or more within the transport, logistics or freight forwarding industry.
