Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to assist in managing and facilitating the importation of goods.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and organizing import documentation, including customs declarations, invoices, and packing lists.
- Ensure accurate filing and record-keeping of all import-related documents.
- Help verify documentation compliance with local and international import regulations.
- Assist in coordinating shipping schedules and liaising with freight forwarders and transportation companies.
- Track shipments and provide updates on their status to the Import Specialist and other relevant departments.
- Support in resolving any shipping or logistics issues that may arise.
- Help in ensuring adherence to customs regulations and import laws.
- Stay informed about changes in importation regulations and assist in communicating these changes to the relevant teams.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and coordinate with the store or storekeeping teams regarding incoming stock.
- Support in managing the logistics of stocking and storage of imported goods.
- Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and responding to emails.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments related to import operations.
- Assist in liaising with suppliers, customs agents, and internal departments.
- Provide administrative support in negotiations and communications with external parties.
Qualifications & Experience
- A high school diploma is required; further education or coursework in business, logistics, or a related field is beneficial.
- 1-2 years experience or strong interest in logistics, supply chain, or import/export operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with logistics software.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
