We are seeking a Sales and Procurement specialist to join our growing team. The candidate should be a generalist food trader capable of handling FMCG, commodities, frozen products, dry products, meat, chicken, and fish. The role is based in Grand Baie.
Identify and establish relationships with suppliers of FMCG products internationally.
Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers to ensure competitive offerings.
Monitor and track market trends, identifying new products and emerging markets for expansion.
Develop and implement sales strategies to promote FMCG products in international markets.
Identify and target potential clients, distributors, and partners in various regions.
Build long-term relationships with key customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Attend trade shows, meetings, and events to expand the company’s network and explore new opportunities.
Conduct market research to understand customer preferences, competitor activities, and industry trends.
Prepare regular reports on market conditions, potential opportunities, and competitor strategies.
Forecast product demand to ensure inventory levels align with market needs.
Oversee the export process, ensuring products are delivered on time and in compliance with international trade regulations.
Coordinate with shipping agents, customs authorities, and freight forwarders for smooth logistics.
Ensure all necessary export documentation is in place, including invoices, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
Prepare cost estimates and manage budgets for procurement and sales.
Track and analyze profit margins to ensure the business remains competitive and profitable.
Monitor payment terms, credit risks, and resolve any financial disputes with clients or suppliers.
Ensure that all food products comply with international standards, regulations, and quality expectations.
Handle any customer complaints or issues related to product quality or delivery.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in international trade, specifically in food products or commodities.
Experience in managing supply chain logistics and working with freight forwarders.
In-depth understanding of export regulations and trade compliance.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to analyze market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Fluency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of French is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Valid driver's license.
Passport, and willingness to travel overseas.
