The Global Business Banking (GBB) Officer is responsible for managing and developing relationships with clients. Adept at evaluating customer concerns and needs to provide them with bank services and products that facilitate the attainment of their financial goals.

 

Main responsibilities

 

  • Daily processing of inwards and outwards remittances, by ensuring adherence all guidelines and policies
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders
  • Attending to customer queries in a timely manner
  • Assisting RM in onboarding process 
  • Ensure all emails and phone calls are attended
  • Extract reports/ statements for clients and internal use as and when required
  • Ensure files are reviewed as per Bank’s review policy
  • Promote bank products ( example, Custody, Internet Banking, Credit Cards, etc) to clients
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Understanding the business needs of potential clients and always ensure client quality services and efficiencies
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned segments to drive growth in the GBB portfolio
  • Manage payment arrangements with clients effectively and efficiently
  • Assist clients with international trade needs, including import/export financing, foreign currency accounts, and global transactions
  • Ensure all transactions and client interactions comply with regulatory standards and internal policies, including KYC and AML requirements
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports on client portfolios, performance metrics, and business banking trends
  • Work closely with risk, compliance, and product development teams to ensure seamless delivery of banking services
  • Perform any other related duties, as may be assigned.

Technical and Soft Competencies/Skills, Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of banking products.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly in KYC, and AML
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and negotiate effectively with clients.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability to manage complex client issues.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Law or any related field or a professional qualification           
  • At least one year of experience in the banking sector
