About Us

L’Artigiano (An APTIS Group Company) is a leading reference in the importation, selection and distribution of gourmet products of Italian origin among professionals in the restaurant, hotel, and public sectors. 

 

Role Purpose

The Food Operator is a specialized role in our company, focusing on processing and packaging products such as cheese and hams and producing mozzarella. Working in a cold room environment, this position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and proficiency in handling food processing equipment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cut and prepare cheese and hams according to specified requirements.
  • Produce mozzarella and other cheese products, following recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure all products are processed with attention to quality and consistency.
  • Package processed cheese and hams in a hygienic and efficient manner.
  • Label packaged products accurately, including dates, batch numbers, and product information.
  • Store packaged products in designated cold storage areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cold room area.
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned and sanitized according to food safety standards.
  • Monitor cold room temperature and report any discrepancies.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and company policies.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain high hygiene standards.
  • Handle food products in a manner that prevents contamination.
  • Keep track of ingredients and supplies, reporting low stock levels to the supervisor.
  • Assist in receiving and organizing raw materials and supplies in the cold room.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient production flow.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • A certificate in food handling or food safety is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in food processing, particularly in cheese and/or meat processing.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment for extended periods.
  • Physical ability to lift and move products and operate processing equipment.

 

Knowledge & Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of food safety & best practices in food hygiene
